Position: Senior Engineer – Prefabricated Buildings

Role Overview

The Senior Engineer – Prefabricated Buildings will be responsible for bridging client requirements with technical and vendor capabilities. The role demands a strong understanding of prefabricated building technologies, structural design, and project execution. The candidate will liaise with multiple prefab manufacturing vendors, evaluate technical solutions, and conceptualize client-specific building requirements into feasible, cost-effective, and sustainable prefabricated solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Requirement Analysis
  • Engage with clients to understand functional, structural, and aesthetic needs.
  • Translate client expectations into detailed technical specifications and conceptual designs.
• Vendor Interaction & Coordination
  • Identify, evaluate, and coordinate with various prefab manufacturing vendors.
  • Review technical proposals, costings, and quality standards from vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
• Design & Engineering
  • Conceptualize prefabricated building solutions tailored to project requirements.
  • Review structural designs, drawings, and BOQs to ensure feasibility and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with architects, consultants, and in-house teams to finalize designs.
• Project Management & Execution
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and execution phases.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure timely delivery of prefabricated components.
  • Troubleshoot technical and design-related issues during implementation.
• Quality & Compliance
  • Establish quality assurance protocols for prefab materials and structures.
  • Ensure adherence to national/international building codes, seismic safety norms, and sustainability standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• 7–10 years of experience in prefabricated buildings, structural systems, or modular construction.
• Strong understanding of prefab materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly systems.
• Ability to conceptualize and convert client requirements into technical designs.
• Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, STAAD, Revit, or other structural design software.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Attributes

• Prior experience in high-seismic or difficult terrain projects (e.g., hilly or remote regions).
• Knowledge of green building standards, sustainability certifications, and energy-efficient prefab solutions.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments.
